Your driver meets you at arrivals at Fès-Saïss Airport — a discreet card, no sign board. The 25-minute drive drops you at the nearest gate the car can reach, then a short walk through streets too narrow for wheels. Your riad door is unmarked in a nameless derb.
No agenda this afternoon. A slow walk down Talaa Kebira, the main artery of the medina, at a pace that lets the city begin to reveal itself. Your guide does not point at things — they wait for you to notice them.
Dinner in the riad courtyard. Traditional harira soup, bastilla, lamb tajine with preserved lemon. Your host sits with you. Ask anything about the week ahead.
